🤖 The Elon Musk rumors are true
4/16/23
Good morning and welcome to the latest issue of neonpulse!
Here are the AI headlines making waves:
🌊 Elon Musk joins the AI wars
🌊 1mm followers in 30 days with ChatGPT
🌊 Converting 2D into 3D with AI
Let’s get into it!
X-AI
The wide-spread rumors about Elon Musk building his own AI startup have proven true.
After quietly assembling a team of AI researchers and engineers, including poaching top talent from leading AI companies like Google’s DeepMind, Musk has officially incorporated his new AI company X-AI with plans to compete head on with OpenAI.
Prior to X-AI Elon was heavily involved at OpenAI, a project he helped start and bankroll with the hopes of guiding the development of AI on a path that would not cause harm human civilization.
Yet disagreements between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman led to Musk’s departure, followed by Musk’s vocal criticisms about the lack of regulation and oversight in the AI industry.
After news about Musk’s new company leaked, Altman couldn’t resist the opportunity of sending a quick jab in Elon’s direction:
Elon does have some serious ground to make up considering OpenAI’s substantial headstart, but given Musk’s ability to completely re-invent and re-imagine industries at a global scale, we’re confident that he’s going to be coming after OpenAI hard and fast.
TikTok-GPT
Following in the footsteps of HustleGPT, where a twitter user gave ChatGPT a budget of $100 and told the AI to make as much money as possible, is TikTok-GPT, an attempt to get 1,000,000 TikTok followers in 30 days by following the advice of ChatGPT.
Each day Greg Isenberg follows the guidance of ChatGPT, sharing one valuable insight from his knowledge of “building online communities, AI, or startups,” and records his daily progress on a twitter thread.
And while ChatGPT is providing solid advice about what types of content to push out to gain followers, we think the success of this experiment will be driven mainly by the novelty of the project, as opposed to the quality of the advice Isenberg is dishing out.
3D AI
Earlier this week a team of researchers from Cornell released their research on Neural Radiance Fields, a new type of AI that allows you to transform 2D photos into simulated drone footage.
this is making me dizzy
By combining computer vision with machine learning algorithms, the team was able to transform 2D images into a complete 3D rendering of the inside of a house.
The most impressive part?
The team only took a couple of regular pictures of each room, with no stabilized depth sensors or specialized equipment, allowing their machine learning algorithm filling in the rest.
This looks like the perfect technology to create virtual house tours for the real estate industry, but I’m sure we’ll see a number of other cool applications for this in the coming months.
Repurpose your content effortlessly with AI
Creating videos is a time consuming, painful process…
But it doesn’t have to be.
Thanks to the power of AI, a new tool called Pictory gives you the ability to quickly and easily transform long form videos and articles into short and shareable video clips, providing you with a seamless way to repurpose your content for social media platforms.
So if you’re ready to stop burning hours of your time repurposing content (or if you’re tired of paying someone else to do it for you) take Pictory for a free test drive here.
