Grok is built on a powerful language model, Grok-1, which has a whopping 33 billion parameters. And the crazy thing is: it was developed in just two months! Thanks to Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Grok has real-time access to the latest information.
Experts believe Grok is onto something big. It uses a technique called "retrieval augmented generation" to give you accurate and up-to-date answers, putting it on par with other top language models.
We can’t be sure if Grok has the same safeguards as other models. It's a bit of a mystery whether it's trained differently or just lacks those extra checks.
xAI has tested Grok and the results are impressive, on par with other popular models. While it's currently available to a select group, xAI plans to open it up more, especially for X Premium+ subscribers. When or if it'll be released to the public is still up in the air.
xAI's goal is to make AI reliable and resilient. They're working on models that can evaluate their own outputs and stand strong against potential challenges. It's all about making AI accessible and ethical.
Elon Musk has been in the AI game for a while. He's been working on making AI less biased, aligning with the wider industry's push for fairness – and he was even one of the founders of OpenAI.
