Google Nears Release of ChatGPT Competitor

Google has just granted select companies early access to its new AI software, known as Gemini. This model is supposed to be Google’s very own GPT-4 competitor.

Gemini encompasses a suite of powerful language models that drive applications ranging from chatbots to text summarization and the generation of original content like email drafts, music lyrics, and news articles — just like GPT-4 does. Additionally, it promises to assist software engineers in code composition and even create images based on user specifications.

While developers are currently testing a substantial version of Gemini, it's worth noting that Google has an even more robust iteration in the works, poised to really be able rival the capabilities of OpenAI's GPT-4.

Google's strategic plan involves making Gemini accessible to companies through its Google Cloud Vertex AI service.

Despite numerous attempts to obtain a comment from Google, they have yet to respond to inquiries. Nevertheless, it's evident that Google is steadfast in its mission to advance the field of generative AI.

Just last month, Google introduced generative AI features to its Search tool for users in India and Japan. Moreover, the company extended the availability of its AI-powered tools to enterprise customers at a reasonable monthly rate of $30 per user, demonstrating its dedication to making AI accessible on a broader scale.

Google is taking AI very seriously. It will be interesting to follow where they take it and how they change the AI space over the next few months…
