OpenAI has terminated two researchers, Leopold Aschenbrenner and Pavel Izmailov, amid allegations of leaking sensitive information, marking a significant breach in the organization's operational security. As reported by The Information and based on insights from inside the company, these dismissals reveal a growing concern over confidential data handling within the company.
Aschenbrenner, a noted associate of co-founder Ilya Sutskever, had been involved in OpenAI's "superalignment" projects, while Izmailov focused on AI reasoning.
