Warren Buffett on AI

Famed investor Warren Buffett provided his thoughts on AI during his company’s annual shareholder meeting over the weekend, highlighting it’s “amazing” capabilities yet issuing a warning about the potential danger of the new technology.

“I get a little bit worried, because I know we won’t be able to un-invent it,” Buffett said.

“We did invent—for very, very good reason—the atom bomb in World War II, and it was enormously important that we did so. But is it good for the next 200 years of the world that nuclear weapons have been unleashed?”

Aside from the potential for the technology to cause a world-wide apocalypse, Buffett also gave his thoughts on the potential for AI to disrupt the world of investments.

“It’s not going to tell me which stocks to buy or anything of the sort,” Buffett said. “It can tell me every stock that meets a certain criteria, or a criteria, in three seconds or something. But it’s got decided limitations in some ways.”

And while he may be correct regarding to AI’s current limitations, it’s only a matter of time before the technology becomes so intelligent that Buffett himself will have a hard time keeping up.

The Future Of Music

AI-generated songs featuring top artists have received millions of views over the past few weeks, a revolution in music production that is causing record executives to panic.

Thanks to new AI tools like ElevenLabs that allow you to easily clone a persons voice, everyone now has the ability to create and release new songs from their favorite artists, a move that could completely disrupt the business models of record companies worldwide.
